The W.H. Mullins Company of Salem, Ohio operated from 1872 to 1974 as America's premier manufacturer of formed sheet metal sculptures. Employing German and Hungarian artisans skilled in repoussé techniques, the firm produced iconic works including the Diana atop the original Madison Square Garden and Hermann the Cheruscan in New Ulm, Minnesota. Their catalog of architectural ornaments and statuary in zinc, brass, and copper adorned courthouses and commercial buildings across the country.
