Virginia Hutchison

Virginia Hutchison is a Glasgow and Isle of Lewis-based sculptor whose participatory practice revolves around conversation and social engagement. A graduate of the Royal College of Art, she runs the bronze casting facilities at Edinburgh College of Art and sits on the board of directors at An Lanntair Arts Centre in Stornoway. Her collaborative bronze works include the Nairn Fishwife and Herring Girl statues, created with Charles Engebretsen. Her recent projects explore community land ownership through cast bronze talking objects sited across the Scottish landscape.
