Tyler Downey

Tyler Downey is an animator, illustrator, and muralist originally from Creston, Iowa, now based in Whitianga, New Zealand. Largely self-taught, he has worked on the TVNZ animated series Kiri and Lou and completed commissions for New Zealand's Ministry of Education. He is the author and illustrator of the children's book Starmaker. Downey has painted multiple murals in his hometown through Creston's Mentor Mural Program, mentoring local youth alongside his artistic practice. His work spans children's books, storyboards, TV animation, and public art.
