Tom Friedman
Tom Friedman (b. 1965, Saint Louis, MO) is a conceptual artist who transforms everyday materials — aluminum foil, Styrofoam, paper, even hair — into meticulously crafted sculptures and installations. Based in Leverett, Massachusetts, Friedman earned his BFA from Washington University and MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago. His work has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Represented by Lehmann Maupin gallery, his public sculptures can be found from Park Avenue to Austin, Texas.
