Timothy P. Schmalz
Timothy P. Schmalz (born 1969) is a Canadian sculptor based in St. Jacobs, Ontario, whose monumental bronze works are installed at sacred and public sites worldwide — from St. Peter's Square in Vatican City to the shores of Lake Superior. Best known for Homeless Jesus and the sprawling Dante Garden at the University of St. Michael's College in Toronto, Schmalz describes his practice as creating "visual translations" of scripture and story. His secular commissions include the Gordon Lightfoot Sculpture Park in Orillia, Ontario, veterans memorials, and firefighter monuments across Canada.
