Thomas F. Agran is an Iowa City-based painter and muralist who has completed over 50 large-scale public murals across the Midwest for municipal, nonprofit, private, and corporate commissions. He has taught painting and drawing at the university level since 2011 and served as Director of Public Art for the Iowa City Downtown District. His murals emphasize painterly language and the warmth of human touch over what he calls the "garish, increasingly homogenous mural tropes of creative placemaking."
