Solveyg W. Schafferer

Solveyg W. Schafferer-Sigerus (born 1928) is a Norwegian sculptor known for her warm, figurative bronze works — especially children at play. Born to a Norwegian mother and Austrian father, she fled Austria as a child during the Anschluss and trained at Norway's National Academy of Fine Art under Per Palle Storm. Her sculptures appear in parks, schools, and public spaces across Norway. Schafferer seeks balance, totality, and simplicity in her work, blending gentle humor with deep earnestness. She also holds a PhD in History of Religion.
