Sidney (Buzz) Buchanan

Sidney "Buzz" Buchanan (1932–2019) was a sculptor and educator whose monumental steel works defined Omaha's public art landscape for decades. A professor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha until his retirement in 2002, he shaped generations of art students while filling the city with bold, geometric sculptures. His works stand at UNO, Eppley Airfield, the Joslyn Art Museum, and throughout Omaha's parks and public spaces. Colleague Eddith Buis called him "the best thinker in 3-D around."
