Shaun Chosa
Shaun Chosa is a self-taught artist, educator, and designer and a citizen of the Turtle Mountain Band of Ojibwe. Raised in the Twin Cities where he attended Heart of the Earth Survival School, Chosa served in the U.S. Marine Corps before settling in Ely, Minnesota. His bold paintings use photographs as starting points, blending Indigenous heritage with pop culture and counterculture influences. His work has been exhibited at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College, the Friedli Gallery, and AICHO galleries. He lives and works in Ely with two cats and a lot of paint.
