Chelsea Monaghan, known as Sawftsea, is a muralist and illustrator born and raised in Michigan, now based in the Upper Peninsula on Anishinaabeg land. Her vibrant, large-scale public murals draw inspiration from the Great Lakes and the wildlife, plants, and communities that surround them. Notable works include Evolve and Stay Involved at LoyalTees, Mino Bimaadiziwin at Peter White Public Library, and murals at Blackrocks Brewery and UP Health System-Marquette. She received the Visual Artist award at Marquette's 25th Annual Art Awards.
