Salah Hammad
Salah Hammad is an Egyptian sculptor born in 1961 in Sharkia, Egypt. He earned his degree in fine art from Helwan University in Cairo and has participated in over twenty international stone carving symposia across four continents, from Vietnam to Sweden to the United States. His work is known for geometric abstraction and symbolic forms, often carved in stone and bronze. Hammad's sculptures are held in collections from the Museum of Modern Art in Cairo to the Pietrasanta Museum in Italy, and he represented Egypt at the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005.
