Mimmo Paladino
Mimmo Paladino, born in 1948 in Paduli, southern Italy, is a leading figure of the Transavantgarde movement. A prolific sculptor, painter, and printmaker, he gained international recognition at the 1980 Venice Biennale alongside Sandro Chia, Francesco Clemente, and Enzo Cucchi. His work draws on ancient symbols and Mediterranean traditions, blending myth with contemporary form. Major collections worldwide hold his work, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMA, and the Guggenheim. He lives and works in Rome, Paduli, and Puglia.
