Matthew Placzek

Matthew Placzek is an Omaha-based sculptor whose monumental works appear in over 200 collections across healthcare facilities, universities, zoos, and corporate campuses worldwide. Born in Columbus, Nebraska in 1964, he began sculpting at 14, inspired by the wildlife along the Platte River. At just 22, he presented an original bald eagle sculpture to President Ronald Reagan. His pieces range from intimate works to towering 90-foot installations, crafted in bronze, stainless steel, and acrylic. He lives in Omaha with his wife Kimberly, also an artist.
