Mathias Gmachl

Mathias Gmachl is a London-based artist creating large-scale public sculpture at the intersection of art, engineering, and ecology. His twenty-year practice spans touring installations and permanent commissions, with works in the collections of MoMA New York and the V&A London. As director of studio Loop.pH and CTO of FabPub, Gmachl pioneers constraint-based design and robotic fabrication. His sculptures—including the 30-meter Qatar Whale Shark—use technology to reveal our relationship with the non-human world.
