Marlena Myles

Marlena Myles is a self-taught Spirit Lake Dakota artist based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, with Mohegan and Muscogee heritage. Her digital practice spans vector illustration, augmented reality, murals, children's books, and animation — all centered on modernizing Dakota history, language, and oral traditions. Notable projects include the Dakota Spirit Walk AR installation and a 2022 Google Doodle celebrating Indigenous stickball. She founded Wíyouŋkihipi Productions, a Dakota publishing company. Her work has shown at the Minneapolis Institute of Art and Minnesota Museum of American Art.
