Littleton Alston
Littleton Alston is a sculptor and Professor of Sculpture at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Born in Petersburg, Virginia, and raised in Washington, DC, he studied at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts before earning his BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and MFA from the Rinehart School of Sculpture at the Maryland Institute College of Art. In 2023, he became the first African American artist to place a statue in the U.S. Capitol's National Statuary Hall, with his bronze of author Willa Cather. His public works span figurative bronze and abstract stainless steel.
