Kevin Komadina

Kevin Komadina is a Minnesota-based artist whose three-decade career in ceramic sculpture, murals, and pottery laid the foundation for his current work as a realist oil painter. Originally from St. Louis, Komadina served as a U.S. Air Force physician and practiced critical care medicine for twenty years before turning to art full-time. His large-scale ceramic installations, including the public sculpture Three Trees in Edina, reflect his fascination with the connection between humanity and the natural world. Today he paints from his studio at the Northrup King Building in Minneapolis, exploring portraiture and everyday scenes with an emphasis on light, perspective, and human interconnectedness.
