Jurek Jakowicz

Jurek Jakowicz is a Polish-born sculptor based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Trained at the Government College of Art and the University of Łódź in sculpture, drawing, and architectural design, he emigrated to the United States in 1985. Renowned for his exacting bronze medallions, Jakowicz has completed commissions for the Boston Public Library, the Patton Museum, and Southern Utah University, and is a three-time finalist for the Presidential Inaugural Medal. His public sculptures appear across the Midwest, blending classical European technique with American civic storytelling.
