Jose Dominguez

Jose Dominguez is a Minneapolis-based mixed-media artist and illustrator born in Casa Grande, Arizona and raised across Colorado, Wyoming, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. His colorful, playful compositions incorporate cartoon-like characters and non-human forms to convey a universal human experience — a style Minnevangelist described as "street art meets Sesame Street." Dominguez holds BA degrees in Graphic Design and Studio Art from Winona State University. His work is in the permanent collection of the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago, and he has shown at Public Functionary, CO Exhibitions, and the Minnesota Museum of American Art, where his 2020 vinyl installation It's Okay to Laugh hung in the skyway above Robert Street.
