Joe Barbera
Joseph Roland Barbera (1911–2006) was an American animator, cartoonist, and producer who co-created Tom and Jerry at MGM Studios in 1940 alongside William Hanna. The duo won seven Academy Awards for their animated shorts before founding Hanna-Barbera Productions in 1957, the studio behind beloved series including The Flintstones, Scooby-Doo, Yogi Bear, and The Jetsons. Renowned for his expressive, quick sketching ability, Barbera helped shape American animation across film and television over seven decades.
