Jim Dehne

Jim Dehne is a Wisconsin-based sculptor who creates lifelike wildlife and horses from hand-bent iron rebar. Raised on a dairy farm in Newton, Wisconsin, he learned welding from his father and uncle, both submarine welders in the 1940s. After serving in the U.S. Army in Alaska and studying biology in Iowa, Dehne returned to farming before transitioning to sculpture through floral design work. His public installations can be found in Edina, Minnesota, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Two Rivers, Wisconsin.
