Jeff Savage

Jeff Savage is a self-taught sculptor and member of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa based in Cloquet, Minnesota. He serves as Director of the Fond du Lac Reservation Cultural Center and Museum. Working with pipestone for over fifty years, Savage also creates in bronze, soapstone, alabaster, and beeswax. He describes himself as an "artist for Indians," crafting ceremonial pipes and sculptures rooted in traditional Ojibwe culture. His work appears in the Smithsonian Institution and U.S. Department of Interior Museum collections. He is a recipient of the George Morrison Artist Award.
