Jason Jaspersen
Jason Jaspersen is a New Ulm, Minnesota-based fine artist and professor of studio art at Bethany Lutheran College. Over more than two decades, his diverse practice has spanned public monuments, painted murals, woodblock prints, Japanese ink paintings, sand animations, and motion graphics. His public works include the life-size bronze Wanda Gag sculpture at the New Ulm Public Library. Jaspersen describes his creative process as slow-moving and iterative, wrestling invisible qualities of faith into stimulating visuals. He also founded The Art Service, providing affordable liturgical art to ministries while mentoring young artists.
