James Brenner
James Brenner is a Minneapolis-based sculptor known for large-scale interactive steel and glass works that invite viewers to become active participants. With a BFA from the University of Minnesota and an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Brenner has completed over 30 public and corporate commissions across the country. His studio in the Casket Arts Building in Northeast Minneapolis is home base for works that use weathering steel's living patina alongside luminous glass to create sculptures built to last 50 years or more.
