Jack E. Anderson

Jack E. Anderson (1929–1993) was a metal sculptor from Lake Linden, Michigan, known for monumental commemorative works across the Upper Midwest. His most celebrated pieces include the Iron Man statue in Chisholm, Minnesota — one of the tallest freestanding sculptures in the United States — and the Shrine of the Snowshoe Priest in L'Anse, Michigan, honoring Bishop Frederic Baraga. Working through his studio Copper Country Arts, Anderson specialized in large-scale brass, copper, and steel figures that honored the working people and cultural heritage of the Great Lakes region.
