Isamu Noguchi
Isamu Noguchi (1904–1988) was a Japanese-American sculptor whose work bridged East and West across six decades. After studying with Constantin Brancusi in Paris, he developed a practice spanning sculpture, gardens, furniture, lighting, and stage design. His iconic works include the Akari light sculptures, landscapes for UNESCO in Paris, and dozens of public sculptures worldwide. Noguchi founded The Noguchi Museum in Long Island City, New York, which remains dedicated to preserving and sharing his artistic legacy.
