Gustav Vigeland
Gustav Vigeland (1869–1943) is Norway's most celebrated sculptor, known worldwide for creating the Vigeland Park in Oslo — the largest sculpture park by a single artist, featuring over 200 works in bronze, granite, and wrought iron. Born in Mandal, he trained in Oslo and studied across Europe, including a visit to Rodin's studio in Paris. His work explores the full arc of human life, from birth to death, with unflinching emotional honesty. His sculptures can be found in public spaces throughout Norway.
