Gail Erickson

Leora Platte, Gail Erickson, and Troy Hattenbaugh are Lincoln, Nebraska-based artists who have collaborated on several community mural projects in the city. Their work is rooted in neighborhood engagement — drawing on the stories, drawings, and cultural identities of local residents to create public art that belongs to the people who live alongside it. In addition to "La Ilucion," the trio (along with collaborator Ryan Connolly) painted the Clinton Community Mural at 27th and Holdrege streets, a vibrant piece inspired by drawings from Clinton Elementary School students. Their projects have been coordinated through NeighborWorks®Lincoln and supported by the Woods Charitable Fund and the City of Lincoln's Urban Development Department.
