Eliezer Sotillo

Eliezer (Ely) Sotillo is a Venezuelan-born, Iowa City-based artist known for large-scale murals and mixed-media works. Born in Maracay, Venezuela in 1982, he moved to the United States at age six. After initially studying nursing, Sotillo returned to his passion for art and earned his BFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Iowa in 2011. His public art spans the Iowa Corridor and beyond, including collaborations with legendary New York graffiti artist Lady Pink and a mural at the iconic 5 Pointz in Queens.
