Eder Muniz

Eder Muniz is a self-taught graffiti and mural artist from Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, known by his street name Calangos de Rua (Street Lizard). In 2000 he co-founded Movimento Calangos, a collective bringing art and culture to Salvadors favelas. His vivid murals explore the connection between humanity and nature through bold color and layered imagery of human figures, animals, and plants. His work spans four continents, including pieces at Cornell Universitys Botanical Garden and the Fowler Museum at UCLA. He was a 2020 PIPA Prize nominee, one of Brazils most prestigious art awards.
