Ed Carpenter
Ed Carpenter (born 1946) is a Portland, Oregon-based artist specializing in large-scale public sculptures that transform light into art. Working internationally since 1973, he creates monumental installations using glass, stainless steel, and innovative tension structures for airports, arenas, and civic spaces worldwide. The grandson of a painter and step-son of an architect, Carpenter studied architectural glass art in England and Germany before establishing his Portland studio. His notable works include LoveBird at Dallas Love Field Airport and Aloft at Wichita Eisenhower Airport.
