Douglas Olmsted Freeman

Douglas Olmsted Freeman is a Minneapolis-based sculptor who has been creating public art since 1978. Born in Minneapolis in 1952, he earned his BA from Luther College before studying figurative sculpture at the Naguib School of Sculpture in Chicago, where he served as primary assistant to master sculptor Mustafa Naguib. His practice blends sculpture with landscape architecture, resulting in fountains, memorials, and interactive public spaces across the United States and Japan that invite visitors to participate, play, and imagine.
