Dennis Kowal
Dennis Kowal is an American sculptor whose monumental works have shaped public spaces for over five decades. Born in Chicago in 1937, he studied at the University of Illinois, the Art Institute of Chicago, and Southern Illinois University, where he earned his MFA. His sculptures in aerospace aluminum and corten steel explore themes of human resilience and existential wonder. A MacDowell and Yaddo fellow, Kowal received the Millennium Award from Florida's Division of Cultural Affairs. He is also the author of Sculpture Casting, a widely used technical reference. His public works stand throughout Sarasota, Boston, and beyond.
