Deborah Masuoka
Deborah Masuoka is a ceramic and bronze sculptor originally from Detroit, Michigan. She earned her BFA from Wayne State University and MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art, where she studied under Jun Kaneko. Known for her monumental animal head sculptures, Masuoka has created over 360 rabbit heads across more than two decades, exploring themes of power, vulnerability, and the reversal of predator-prey relationships. Her work is held in collections including the Sheldon Art Museum, Arizona State University, and Racine Art Museum. She co-runs Hazel Dell Studios and serves as facility coordinator for the Bemis Center's Okada Sculpture Facility.
