Craig Snyder

Craig Snyder is a Minneapolis-based sculptor who transforms steel, copper, brass, and aluminum into striking works of public art. Working from his FireShapes Studio in the Northrup King Building, he coaxes industrial metals into forms that are equal parts serious and playful. His practice is shaped by wabi-sabi — finding beauty in imperfection — and he often combines metal with stone, wood, and glass. Snyder's sculptures have been commissioned for cities across the Midwest, including Sioux Falls, Edina, Kenosha, and Decatur.
