City Mischief Murals
City Mischief Murals is a Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and Pacific Islander artist collective based in the Twin Cities. Co-founded by Thomasina Topbear (Oglala Lakota and Santee Dakota) and led alongside Miskitoos (Marten Falls Anishinaabe and Constance Lake Oji-Cree First Nation), the collective formed during the 2020 uprising following the killing of George Floyd. Their large-scale murals reclaim public space through culturally relevant imagery, positive representations of BIPOC communities, and Native language revitalization. City Mischief practices public art as a method of healing, community building, and making the invisible visible.
