Bill Hosko

Bill Hosko is a Saint Paul-based artist and architectural illustrator whose body of work represents one of the most comprehensive visual records of the city's landmarks and neighborhoods. His medium spans pencil, ink, and paint, with subjects ranging from the Cathedral of Saint Paul and Como Park Conservatory to the Coney Island Buildings and Mancini's Char House. He attended Minneapolis Community and Technical College, studying architecture before transitioning to full-time art. He opened Hosko Gallery in 1994, operating it for decades in downtown Saint Paul before relocating to northern Montana. Beyond his art, Hosko is a vocal civic advocate who has twice run for Saint Paul City Council and regularly engages in public policy debates — always with drawings in hand. His work has been exhibited at Landmark Center and is held in private collections across the Twin Cities.
