Bethany "Betni" Kalk is a muralist, installation artist, and encaustic painter who serves as Professor of Design at Creighton University. Born in Canada, she spent her childhood in Papua New Guinea where her missionary parents raised the family for ten years. She studied graphic design, painting, and drawing, and has exhibited across the U.S. including New York, Minneapolis, and San Francisco. Kalk has received numerous grants and residencies including Sitka Center, San Juan National Forest, and the Anderson Center. She authored the Community Mural Guide and co-led Omaha By Design's Art + Infrastructure Mural Project.
