b. Robert Moore is a self-taught multidisciplinary artist from Des Moines, Iowa, whose work is shaped by socio-political events, cultural criticism, and collective identity within the African American experience. He is known for recontextualizing classic American cartoon characters — the Jetsons, Flintstones, and Peanuts — depicting them with Black and brown skin. His Harvesting Humanity project projected images of George Floyd, Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, and local youths onto grain silos across rural Iowa. Moore's practice addresses mental health awareness and challenges the suppression of vulnerability, particularly within Black male communities.
