Ana Marietta

Ana Marietta (Ana Maria Ortiz) is a Puerto Rican muralist and sculptor based in Houston, Texas. Born in Barranquitas, she studied art and animal science at the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez. Her large-scale murals feature hybrid creatures with anthropomorphic features — noble beasts with human-like eyes that choose peace over conflict. Her work appears on walls across the globe, from Miami and London to Las Vegas and Kiev. She teaches at the Glassell School of Art at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston and has contributed to Meow Wolf's Radio Tave exhibition.
