Amber Hansen

Amber Hansen is a filmmaker, muralist, and visual artist creating socially engaged and community-based artwork throughout the Midwest. An Alton, Iowa native and associate professor of art at the University of South Dakota, Hansen holds an MFA from the University of Kansas and a BFA from USD. She has led community mural projects from South Dakota to South Carolina and Paraguay. Hansen co-directed the documentary film "Called to Walls" about community-based muralism in Middle America.
