Jim Green
Jim Green (1948–2024) was a Colorado-based sound artist who turned everyday environments into playful sonic experiences. Born in Minneapolis, he studied sculpture at the University of Colorado Boulder before discovering his passion for nonmusical sound. His public works include the Laughing Escalator at Denver's Convention Center, Soundwalk on Curtis Street, and Train Call at Denver International Airport. Green believed in the power of surprise and spent decades humanizing public spaces through unexpected audio encounters.
