Coosje van Bruggen

Coosje van Bruggen (1942–2009) was a Dutch-born American sculptor, art historian, and critic. Trained in art history at the University of Groningen, she worked at Amsterdam's Stedelijk Museum before marrying Claes Oldenburg in 1977 and becoming his full creative partner. Van Bruggen brought conceptual depth, poetic sensibility, and rigorous research to their collaborative practice, shaping the narrative and meaning behind each monumental work.
